今日も☆先生のレッスン♪
今日は少し回線が悪い状態でした。
昨日のDictationが残っていたので取りあえずそれを終わらせたけど、時々言葉が途切れるので
Skypeをかけなおしてもらいました。
かけなおしてもらったけど画像の不鮮明さはあまり変わらなかったけど音声は幾分マシになったかな。
今日は昨日のレッスンで出てきた give away と giveの違いがよくわからなかったので
☆先生にどう違うのか聞いてみました。
What's the difference between "give away" and "give"?
すると、
give away- use as a gift
give- to pass
と教えてくれました。
give awayは誰かに贈り物として渡すときに使う。
to passはただ単に渡すときに使う
こんな感じみたい。
なるほど・・・ こんな風に使い分けるのね。

今日のリンガルボックスの日常英会話はChenee先生のレッスン♪
今日は昨日の続きで「Talking about Culture and Values」のレッスンですが、
このレッスンは文化とか習慣などのことについて話すときのレッスンです。
このパートは私にとってはかなり難しく、わからないことばばかり出てくるので
頭の中が「？？？」でいっぱいになります。
先生に単語の意味を説明してもらっても、いざそれを使ってsentenceを作ってと言われると
日本語で考えても例文を考えられません。
You see, the thing is that
これは何かを説明してと言われたときに会話を開始するときに使うようですが、
これを使って「make a sentence」と言われても、何を説明してよいのか全く分かりません。
英語を習っていると、日本語を英語にするだけでなく、必ず「Why?」とか
フレーズを使って文章を作ってと言われるので自分の意見を述べることを求められます。
ところが今まで学校でもそういった自分の意見を求められることがなかったので
答えにいつも困ってしまいます。
これって英語以前の問題で、文書の作成能力をもっと鍛えないといけないですね。
